Framing

Susan Kallimani of Lake Street Gallery was selected as a recipient of the PPFA 2005 L. Thomas McKeon, CPF Scholarship award. Her application was selected by a panel of industry experts from among the 13 applications received. The scholarship entitles her to a free sitting for the CPF exam during the 2005 calendar year and a collection of study materials to prepare for it. The Certified Picture Framer exam is a comprehensive test that requires the participant to have a thorough knowledge of conservation framing techniques and materials, frame design, and all other aspects of picture framing necessary to be up to industry qualifications.
Update: Susan has now passed the CPF exam and joins Lake Street Gallery owner, Joyce Davis as one of a hand full of CPF designated framers in NWI. Ms Davis has held the designation since 1998. No other establishment in the region boasts two CPF designated framers.
